welcome letter
Dear Parents,
We have an exciting musical school year in store for your child. This year your child will continue to learn new skills and concepts that will form the foundation for a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
Throughout the school year, your child will learn the elements of music. Through poetry, he or she will begin to explore the concepts of rhythm and beats, while learning how rhythm is written in musical pieces by using a staff with measures, notes, and rest. Listening to and singing traditional melodies from different cultures will serve as an introduction to pitch and to the special sounds of music. These songs also highlight the universal nature of music. At home, you can reinforce your child's learning by sharing music that you love.
I am here to help you help your child explore our musical world. Producing a music program at school requires much work and many hands. Thank you for whatever assistance you can offer this year whether at home or at school. Together we can create a musical learning experience for your child that will enrich his or her life for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Mr. K Brown
